15 Great Tips To Lose Weight Fast

Want to lose weight fast? It's easy to say goodbye to 10 pounds of unwanted fat with these easy diet tips. Just pay attention to what you eat and be sure to have good tasting, fresh and healthy food including snacks, fill up on vegetables and keep your taste buds happy with fruit.

No need to make sacrifices! Just follow these simple guidelines to lose your first 10 pounds, last 10 pounds or give your weight loss program a boost when it seems to have stuttered to a halt. This is a balanced and flexible plan that you can use for as long as you want.

1. Keep a note of everything that you eat and drink. You do not need to estimate calories. Just write down what it was that you had and the approximate quantity. You will find that being more aware of what you are eating helps you to plan healthy meals and snacks.

2. Halve your intake of all pure or added fats. This means using half as much butter or spread on your bread, toast, muffins and potatoes; half the usual amount of mayonnaise or sauce on your salad; and half the oil in the frypan every time.

3. Limit treats containing sugar to three times per week. This includes chocolate, ice cream, desserts, cake, pastries, cookies, etc.

4. Include a lower fat source of protein at most meals: chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt. Have eggs, nuts and red meat occasionally but not every day.

5. Plan at least one lunch and dinner every week without meat or cheese. Build those meals around whole grains, vegetables and beans to increase fiber and reduce fat.

6. Reduce the fat content in your milk products. If you are currently drinking whole milk, reduce to 2% fat. From 2% reduce to 1%. Choose lower fat cheese and yogurt. When you buy yogurt, also check that it does not contain sugar.

7. Have at least two servings of fruit every day. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season.

8. Drink water instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol. Avoid diet soda - the sweet taste only encourages you to crave sugar. Hot water with a slice of lemon can be very refreshing in the morning.

9. Include at least two servings of vegetables at lunch and dinner. If you are getting hungry, have more.

10. Eat slowly. The body is slow to register when you are full and it is easy to eat too much if you are racing through your meals.

11. Grated carrot makes a great snack. You will find that a grated carrot is much more filling than a whole carrot. Strange but true.

12. Use whole grains wherever possible. The fiber will give you a fuller feeling and also help your digestion.

13. Choose food that you can chew. Again this will increase your fiber intake, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too. This means eating fruit instead of drinking juice. If you have soup, make sure it is chunky.

14. Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time. Plan your shopping too - make a list of what you need and stick to it. If you just grab something when you are feeling hungry, you will probably choose high calorie food.

15. Always switch off the TV when you eat. That includes snacks as well as meals. Studies have proved that we eat larger portions in front of the TV, probably because we are much less aware of what we are eating. When you eat, only eat if you want to lose weight fast.

How to Lose Weight and Still Drink Soda

By Donald Hylton (I recently posted this article to EzineArticles.com)

There are probably hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, who are currently on a diet. One of the things that impact your success is how may calories you take in that are in liquid form. Most people I know like to drink sodas. But can you drink soda and still lose weight? Here are 5 tips to help you succeed in your diet while still drinking your sodas.
1. Drink Diet Soda
Diet soda has the benefit of not having any calories or at least very few. Diet soda won't impact your calorie intake, but there are some cautions. Some of the sugar substitutes, while calorie free may not be fooling your body. It may react as if your soda was sugared. I know that when I drink diet soda, my craving for sweets tends to rise a short time later.
2. Half and Half
Here's something you may not have thought of. Say you're at the convenience store and you decide you want a soda. Instead of getting that 32 ouncer full of Cola, why not save yourself half the calories by filling the cup with half regular soda and rest with the diet version? You not only save calories, it also tastes better than 100 percent diet soda.
3. Drink From the Can
Instead of filling up at the soda fountain, why not just by a can of your favorite soda. That 12 oz can will cost you about 140 calories. The advantage is you know exactly how many calories you are taking in. A 32 oz cup of soda at the fountain however would be approximately 373 calories. Get a cup of ice with your can of soda and you're ready to go.
4. Limit Your Soda Intake
If you are going to drink sugared soda, you may want to limit yourself to only drinking soda one day a week. Consider this your cheat day when you can eat whatever you want.
5. Knowledge is Power
Knowing how many calories are in the food you eat or in the liquids you drink will help you keep your diet on track. As I mentioned before, a can of Cola contains approximately 140 calories. That breaks down to 11.6 calories per ounce. If you see someone filling up that Big Gulp 44 ounce cup, that works out to a whopping 510 calories.
There you have it. 5 tips that will allow you to stay on track with your diet, yet allow you to enjoy drinking soda. A diet doesn't have to be all chicken, vegetables, and mineral water. Here's to a successful weight loss plan. Bottom's up!

Tell The Truth - Why Do You Need To Lose Weight?

Tell The Truth - Why Do You Need To Lose Weight?
By Robert Carleton

We have all been there before (well, most of us). Standing in front of that mirror and thinking "Oh my God, what happened to my body?" When you think this, why are you thinking that? Many people will publicly say to friends something like "I am happy just the way I am." But is it the truth? Are you happy just the way you are? When it is just you and your mirror - are you really happy with the image looking back at you? If not, there must be some reason you are thinking about losing weight.

Maybe your husband, wife, or partner does not find you attractive anymore. Is that the reason you are considering trying to lose weight? Friends can easily tell you that if your partner loved you, your weight would make no difference. If only life and biology was so simple! These friends are trying to make you feel good but not telling you the truth. I am here to tell you that most red blooded men and women would rather like to be intimate with someone they are physically attracted to. Maybe you were physically attractive when you first met your significant other, but is that true today, or did you let yourself go? Is this why you are trying to lose weight. Be honest.

Maybe you feel you are discriminated against because of your weight when looking for a job, or when you are trying to get promoted in your present job. The reality of the world is that attractive people generally make more money. You don't need to look like Brad Pitt or Angelina J, but you do need to be a normal weight. If you want to believe it or not, we are a people that are obsessed with physical appearance. If there is a new job opening and it is a job where you will have to be face to face with customers, who do you think the boss wants to hire? A person that looks pleasant (that does not mean skinny), or a person who looks fat? Come on, you know the answer.

Listen, no one is perfect, but you need to put a plan in place if you are not comfortable with your present appearance. Decide that today is the day. You are going to do something about it. Listen, I understand, but the reality of the world is that if you look fat, people look at you differently. Right or wrong, that's the truth.
